A trail leads through the dense tropical forest from Anse Victorin to Grand Anse. Towards the end of the trail, a giant granite plateau appears in front of the ocean where high energy waves break with powerful force. The 900 step long Grand Anse is partly covered by coral stone formations, which may make swimming difficult at low tide. At high tide this beach offers fantastic snorkelling. From May to October sand covers the rocks and coral formations, making Grand Anse the longest sand beach of the island. Violet blooming Beach Morning Glories and green Vouloutye bushes grow along the shore. A small sheltered seating area with an ice-box filled with chilled drinks and two hammocks shaded by palmtrees can be found directly behind the beach. Nearby is also a small road, providing access to the beach by golf-buggy or bicycle. Beware of giant land tortoises crossing the path.
