South of Anse Marie Louise you can find Petite Marie Louise. This beach does not have direct access from the tarred coastal road and can only be reached by a dirt road followed by a forest trail.
This secluded beach is only 140 steps long. It lays in a litte bay enclosed by giant granite rocks. Only one coconut palm and various green bushes form the beachline. Small coral stones are scattered along the beach due to the close proximity of the reef. A stony ocean floor may make swimming difficult and beach sandals are recommended. Swimming outside the reef can be dangerous due to strong underwater currents, especially during the southeast monsoon from May to October.
