The soft sand beach Anse Barbarons is about 1400 steps long and lies in a beautiful bay. Large granite rocks frame this beach at both ends. It is sheltered by Takamaka trees, coconut palms and Vouloutye bushes. Occasional coral stones are scattered along the beach due to the nearby reef. During the southeast monsoon from May to October strong currents can make swimming dangerous. Flags at the hotel Le Méridien Barbarons at the north end of this beach indicate the swimming conditions. Anse Barbarons is well known for its excellent snorkelling in the vicinity of the hotel. Ile aux Vachez and the green landscape of Mount Barbarons are within view of the beach.
At Anse Barbarons the following water sport facilities are available:
* Watersport Centre Le Méridien Barbarons Windsurfing, waterskiing, kayaking, jet ski and pedalos. * Diving (PADI), snorkelling and deep-sea fishing.
Le Méridien Barbarons
The 4-star hotel Le Méridien Barbarons is located at this beach. Its architectural style makes it particularly suitable for families with children. The hotel offers a large variety of water sports.
