Anse d'Est is located in a very wide bay on the eastern side of the island. The beach is 1150 steps long and has white, soft sand. A granite mountain with a huge palm forest borders the beach on the south side. Depending on the season and due to sand drifting the north side is characterised by coral formations. The North Island Lodge with its library, diving centre, restaurant and swimming pool is situated on this beach. Large coconut palms and bushes shelter Anse d'Est and provide privacy to the villas along the beachline. Beach Morning Glories with purple-pink flowers creep in the direction of the sea.
